Eight Sixteen originally started as a small partnership by Pete, Jo and Dave Green in 2010 and began with 2 main objectives;
1, Deliver the best coffee and breakfast/lunchtime food and snacks in the fastest time possible across Halifax.
2, Create a business where the work we do goes further - every coffee we sell includes in the price a small donation to a school in Maues, Brazil to feed their 5 year old students.
Over time Pete helped to start, and then aquired, a beautiful shop where we merged the two businesses and now operate everything from at Dean Clough, Halifax. Here we have the privilage to serve the 4000+ workers on site as well as visitors.
And nothing much has changed! We still offer quality and speed of service and product, we still are independent and worker-owned, we still enjoy putting our personal touches into the shop, we still enjoy introducing people to new music and drinks. To see in more detail what we do, as well as the obvious seated cafe and take out sandwiches, see our 'Services' page.
If you haven't yet visited us, please do pop down. We are in the Travelodge end of the complex, next door to Ricci's Tapas Bar (delicious by the way!).
